Angular contact ball bearings for RV reducers are typically designed with non-standard dimensions. They consist of an outer ring, an inner ring, an integral cage, and a set of precision steel balls, with a contact angle of 40°. These bearings can simultaneously withstand radial loads and axial loads in one direction, and can also support pure axial loads in a single direction. They are commonly used in pairs in a back-to-back arrangement.
With a compact cross-section, these bearings help reduce the installation space of the main equipment. The cage is made of glass fiber-reinforced engineering plastic, which significantly reduces overall weight while improving strength and operating temperature resistance (the cage can withstand temperatures up to 120°C). These bearings are mainly used in the main support positions of RV reducers.
Precautions
Before installation, thoroughly clean the bearing housing, shaft, and other mating components to remove oil, contaminants, and debris. Ensure there are no burrs or sharp edges. Verify that the fit tolerances between the housing bore and bearing outer diameter, as well as between the shaft journal and bearing inner diameter, meet the specified requirements.
When installing the inner ring, ensure that no force is applied to the rolling elements. Gently tap the end face of the inner ring with a plastic hammer until full contact between the inner ring and the mating surface is confirmed by sound. The outer ring should be installed following the same procedure.
Angular contact ball bearings for RV reducers must be installed in pairs. During assembly, the preload should be properly adjusted. Appropriate preload ensures optimal rigidity after installation, allowing the bearings to withstand bidirectional axial loads, radial loads, and overturning moments.
